FAQ & Answers about LED Light Therapy
Is LED light therapy safe for all skin types?
Yes. It’s suitable for all skin tones and can be customized for your concerns.
Where can Celluma be used?
Face, neck, back, joints, and most areas experiencing skin concerns, pain, or inflammation.
Does LED light affect tattoos?
No. It won’t fade tattoos and may support normal healing when used post-procedure (follow your artist’s aftercare).
Will it change freckles, melasma, or sunspots?
LED won’t remove existing pigmentation, but regular use may help reduce triggers for new pigment formation. For pigment correction, consider adding a peel and pairing it with LED.
What does it feel like? Any downtime?
Most feel gentle warmth and relaxation — usually no sensation at all. No downtime; you can resume normal activity right away.
Should I wear SPF?
Daily SPF is always recommended outdoors. For treatment, arrive with clean, product-free skin so the light isn’t blocked.
Any side effects?
LED is non-invasive and well-tolerated. Mild temporary redness or sensitivity can occur and typically fades within hours.
Before Your LED Session
- Pause retinol/retinoids for 3–4 days pre-treatment.
- Arrive with clean, dry skin (no makeup, SPF, or occlusive products).
- Remove contact lenses if treating around the eyes; bring a case if needed.
